Fund Equipment & Apparatus
Supporting the purchase of new equipment or a fire apparatus is one of the most impactful ways you can help the Vera Cruz Fire Department meet the growing demands of emergency response. Currently, half of our fleet is nearing the end of its effective service life, with several of our trucks over 30 years old. Replacing even one fire truck is a major investment — the base cost of a new apparatus now exceeds $1 million, and that’s before any custom features or essential add-ons are included. In addition, the price of critical equipment like rescue tools, hose, and safety gear has risen dramatically over the past five years. Your donation toward equipment and apparatus replacement ensures our volunteers have the reliable tools they need to serve safely and effectively. Sponsor A Firefighter
Sponsoring a firefighter is one of the most impactful ways you can support the Vera Cruz Fire Department. Outfitting a single firefighter with the necessary protective gear—including turnout gear, helmet, boots, gloves, and breathing apparatus—can cost upwards of $15,000. Many of our volunteers are currently using gear that is reaching the end of its safe and usable life. Replacing this equipment is not just important — it’s essential for their safety and effectiveness, and it’s a critical need we face every year. Your tax-deductible donation will go directly toward ensuring our firefighters are properly equipped to respond to emergencies with confidence and protection.
