This evening around 1615 hrs, Harrisburg City units were dispatched to the 2200 block of Logan St. in the uptown section of the city for a reported structure fire. City units arrived with heavy smoke showing from the middle of the row and requested the 1st alarm. While our volunteers were responding to the station for the transfer, city command quickly upgraded to the 2nd alarm bringing the engine to the scene. Engine 30 arrived picking up Squad 8's hydrant at Logan and Woodbine St. Engine 30 grabbed a line off of Wagon 4 and deployed to the 2nd and 3rd floor of the primary exposure building. Engine 30 and City crews were met with fire conditions in the exposure. Engine crew assisted with fire attack and extensive overhaul for about 2 hours before going available.
Special thanks to Engine 39 (Grantville) for covering our first due and help getting our engine back in service. Pictures courtesy of Dustin Weese and SH2 photos.
